If you own a car, you know that you need to take care of the major repairs as quickly as possible. After all, you know it's not safe to drive around town with faulty brakes. However, if you're like most drivers, you might not pay as much attention to the seemingly minor problems that can affect your car. Here are just four of the seemingly minor problems that should be taken care of right away.

Faulty Gas Cap

If you have a faulty gas cap, you might not think much about it. In fact, as long as it still fits on your car and keeps the gas inside the tank, you may think that your cap will last a bit longer. Unfortunately, that's not necessarily the case. If your gas cap is broken, the first thing you'll notice is that your gas mileage suffers. Next, your engine performance will suffer. In fact, you may notice that your engine doesn't have as much power as it used to. Finally, your check engine light may illuminate. If your gas cap has seen better days, have it replaced as soon as possible.

Horn Problems

If your horn suddenly stopped sounding one day, you may think that you can live without it. After all, you don't have to use it very often. Unfortunately, if you spend enough time behind the wheel, you know that there are times when a well-working horn is essential to your safety, and to the safety of those around you. In most cases, horn problems can be traced back to a faulty wire or fuse. If your horn has stopped working, don't take chances with safety. Have your broken horn repaired immediately.

Worn Out Wipers

If it hasn't rained in a while in your area, you may think that you can postpone the replacement of your damaged windshield wipers. However, that's not actually the case. You never know when a storm is going to pass through. When it does, you need to know that you'll have a clear view of the road, the pedestrians, and the other vehicles you're sharing the road with. If you can see visible damage to your windshield wipers, or your wipers have stopped working altogether, have the necessary repairs taken care of before the next storm arrives.

Fluid Leaks

If your car has developed a slight fluid leak, don't ignore the problem. It might only be a few drops right now, but those drops can add up. Not only that, but without proper care, those minor leaks can develop into major problems in no time at all. If you've noticed a leak under your car, make an appointment for auto services right away.
